Call for Abstracts

On behalf of the ICIN 2016 Organising Committee you are invited to submit an abstract for presentation at the 8th International Congress on Innovations in Nursing - Innovation and Leadership in Clinical Practice, Research and Education.

The Congress builds on previous successes and is a must attend event for those wanting to share innovative nursing practices and concepts from around the world. It presents an exciting range of experts and leaders in clinical nursing, research and education.

Submitting an Abstract

Abstracts must be submitted online. Abstracts are to be submitted as Microsoft Word documents only using a specific submission format; a sample abstract template is available for download by clicking the button below. We recommend that you use this template and save your abstract before uploading.

  • Abstracts must be a minimum of 250 words and no longer than 300 words.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in Arial 11 point font.
  • Please do not list authors and affiliations in your abstract, as a blind review process will take place. Instead, author names and affiliations are entered as part of the online submission process
  • The paper title must be typed in bold font.
  • Abstracts must be text only. Graphics, pictures or graphs should not be submitted.

Once you have submitted your abstract online, you will receive an email containing your personal access key. This access key can be used to re-enter the 'Speaker Zone' where you can view or make changes to your submitted abstract.

Presentation Format

Abstracts may be submitted for the following presentation types:

  • 20 Minute Oral presentation (plus 5 minutes question time)
  • 3 Minute Hot Topic (Oral presentation limited to 3 minutes with one PowerPoint Slide presented in main program)*
  • Poster Display (dimensions: 841mm wide x 1189mm high (Portrait))

*There will be a prize for the best 3 Minute Hot Topic Presentation

Themes

The Organising Committee has developed a number of themes that will be addressed throughout the Congress. Themes include:

  • Clinical Practice
  • Leadership
  • Consumers
  • Research
  • Community
  • Rural & Remote
  • Education
  • Safety & Quality
  • Indigenous
  • Workforce

The Organising Committee also welcomes abstracts that may not fall within the set themes above; more than one theme can be addressed.

Guidelines

The presenting author/s must register and pay to attend the Congress at the discounted presenter rate.  The presenting author/s must attend at least the full day of their presentation.

Submission of abstracts implies the author’s agreement to publish the abstract in all Congress publications including the website. Successful abstracts must be presented by the author or a nominated co-author.

Acceptance of abstracts does not imply any payment from the Congress Committee.  Authors must arrange and pay their own registration, accommodation, travel etc. to attend the Congress.

Acceptance or otherwise is at the discretion of the Congress Program Committee whose decision is final.

All abstracts must be submitted by 5.00pm WST Friday, 29 April, 2016

Authors will be advised of the status of their abstract/s by Friday, 24 June, 2016

All presenting authors must register and pay for their attendance at the Congress before Friday 29 July 2016. Failure to register will result in an automatic withdrawal of your abstract.
